Hello I have a problem with activating Autocad LT 2008 on a new computer (the old one has stopped working). The program works correctly after the installation , but after entering the activation code it shows an activation error. It is strange that requested code is different from the one installed on the old computer. Should I re-register the program on your website and generate the new code? Sorry for my English Regards
First Acad LT 2008 is no longer supported by Autodesk. In addition you can't take an activation code from one machine and use it on another machine. One more thing.. Activation is only possible if Autodesk still considers this serial # active.
New AutoCAD LT 2008 Key
Just because it works now, doesn't mean in the future with Window 10 updates that its going to continue to work. In addition have you tried every function that you need in Acad LT 2008 to confirm it all works? If this is your business are you willing to risk it when a Windows 10 update comes along and makes this version inoperable? What are you going to do then? Don't risk it but its not something that I have to worry about..
I have run in to exactly the same problem today. My version, AutoCAD LT2008 has been working on Windows 10 ever since windows 10 was released... until today. All of a sudden it's asking me to reactivate the software which of course is not possible. I also have all I need in this version of AutoCad for my business and have no desire to spend money on something I don't need. Surely there's a workaround to eliminate the need for activation?
Annotation scaling MagicWith AutoCAD 2008, Autodesk has solved this long-time frustration with a new concept called annotation scaling. Any text, dimension, leader, hatch pattern, block, or attribute can now be defined as annotative, and any of these objects already present in existing drawings can easily be made annotative when that drawing is opened in AutoCAD 2008 by assigning it an annotative property. Any object with the new annotative property can then have one or more scales assigned to it, so that the same object can appear in different viewports with varying scale factors.
In AutoCAD 2008, when you insert text from Word, the text retains virtually all of its original formatting, including paragraph alignment, indentations, and spacing. In addition, multiline text now supports multiple columns. Text can automatically wrap across multiple columns and users can control the width and length of columns to achieve desired results.
This multicolumn capability can also be applied to tables. Users can now split tables into multiple columns and have table titles and headers repeat in each column. AutoCAD 2008 also supports auto-fill capabilities similar to those found in Excel.
And speaking of Excel, users have long wished for a method other than OLE (object linking and embedding) to truly link AutoCAD data with an Excel spreadsheet. The updated Paste Special command in AutoCAD 2008 lets users paste Excel data as AutoCAD table entities, creating a real data link between the DWG and XLS files. Should any data change in the XLS file, a bubble notification (similar to that for an external reference) immediately alerts you to the change and provides a quick way to update the table. You can also push changes in the other direction, so that if you modify data in the AutoCAD table, the data is also changed in Excel.
Spell checking has also been improved. Users no longer need to first select text objects; AutoCAD 2008 checks the entire drawing by default, and when an error is found, the software highlights and zooms to the misspelled word in the drawing. You can also include dimension text, attributes, and external references.
Even getting dimensions arranged, aligned, and oriented properly has also long been troublesome, requiring much manual editing. Here again, AutoCAD 2008 introduces several new commands. The new DIMBREAK command breaks dimension or extension lines where they intersect objects or other dimensions. The breaks automatically update if you move the intersecting objects, and heal themselves if objects no longer intersect. The new DIMSPACE command evenly spaces dimensions while the new DIMJOGLINE command lets users add a jog to linear dimensions.
The latest release of AutoCAD is 2015, with SP1 supposed to be released within the month. Autodesk changes their DWG file-format usually every 3 years, so running different versions can cause backwards-compatibility problems. It might not depending on what the drafter/technician is doing and/or if they are the only user editing the file. AutoCAD 2007/2008/2009 use the same format, 2010/2011/2012 use the same format, and 2013/2014/2015 use the same format. Autodesk has told our CAD Manager that another change is expected with the 2016 release. Also, if they needed to just review a newer DWG file, you could try Autodesk's free viewer, DWG TrueView.
If you have a subscription with autodesk the license is per release. My point being that if you had a license for 2012 and your users released the license, I believe you can then bump that machine to 2012 opposed to 2008. You may want to contact your vendor to verify.
Why you should attempt to bump the user up to twelve is so there is less information loss between them. Also I don't think Autodesk is still licensing 2008 products. That particular verification method may be retired. You may have to get in contact with Autodesk to get the activation verified.
You are using the LiTe edition of autocad. That makes me wonder if the user actually needs to make changes to drawings or if they are management who wishes to view/markup drawings. Like JonKorf said if they are just viewing the drawing then DWG TrueView Opens a new window should do just fine. If they need to markup drawings my CAD managers prefer Design Review Opens a new window.

It used to run Acad 2008 LT. There's half a dozen identical machines (workstations Win 7 64) with the same hard- and software that still run it. Because of other issues windows got however re-installed on that one particular machine. Since that time we have been unable to get Acad running on it. For us it doesn't even get to the verification of the authenticity of the Acad. 2ff7e9595c
