WAMP Server icon is always Orange in color not turning Green: How to fix it

carmasupptoonici

Click on the wamp server icon in the taskbar and test "localhost". If that works, click the " phpinfo() " link on the page. If that works too, your wamp server is working and you should be able to execute php files. If not, you need to make sure it is installed properly and started properly.

mysql service started and indication red color. appache sevice not started indicating green. test port 80 displays the following message your port 80 is not actually used. icon in the system tray, (which is orange by the way!), left click, go to Apache -> Service -> Install Service and Enter in the MS-Dos dialog box.

enabling rewrite_module is essentially turning on mod_rewrite, but dont know why wampserver calls it so. Hopefully it solves your issue with clean urls, you can verify its fixed by running the test again.

Everything should be set up now. Make sure you restart WampServer for the changes to take effect. If you see a green WAMP icon everything should be right. If the icon is orange there is a problem with your syntax somewhere.
